uvcvideo for webcams?

I am trying to get a Logitech USB webcam C120 to work with my meteohub.
The webcam works on my Asus Eee PC using Ubuntu 9.1 NBR and Skype, so at least I know it can work.
(I am running meteohub in VM Player on the Asus.)
The gspcav1 driver that meteohub uses does not see the webcam, though if I do a lsusb I do see the device:
I read that uvcvideo is what is needed, but that is not included in the kernel 2.6.24 that meteohub is using, apparently it was included from 2.6.24 onwards. I am guessing that this is the problem.
Is it possible to add uvcvideo to meteohub?
Many thanks.

Code: Select all
lsusb -v -d 046d:080f
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 046d:080f Logitech, Inc.
and a lot more detail... I read that uvcvideo is what is needed, but that is not included in the kernel 2.6.24 that meteohub is using, apparently it was included from 2.6.24 onwards. I am guessing that this is the problem.
