why is it so cheap?
only €68.08 (EUR)
and with 2 GBit-ports and Wifi it consumes only 5 Watts?
Looks like a must buy.
Will meteohub run on that new tiny gadget?

Why so cheap? I think the "standard" one does not come with a MicroSD card slot. The advanced or "plus" is better equipped, but more expensive I guess.

hi guys,
yes this new guruplug seems to rock. as i'm new in meteostation and wait to receive my vantage pro2, do you know if this new guruplug will be able to work with meteohub, or if only the sheevaplug can work? thanks for your answer

as written here:

Zumindest sollte eine Portierung nicht zu komplex werden. Nervig ist, dass der notwendige SD Karten-Slot nur beim großen Modell verfügbar ist.
it should work. if not, it will quite soon. Is there someone for a group boy from dealer? I have ordered sheva 2plugs to slovenia, but out tax office and the company that driver for them, wanted to charge me aditional 80€ for the delivery... So if it is cheaper to germany, i would like to buy at least one (the biger model). So please let me know, if there is a chance, that we get it cheaper. Or maybe someone from the us, and then he sends it to me?
Regards, Uros

yes, i know all of that. the tax here is 20%, so that is just 13e - no problem. the problem is just the company, that delivers the packages for fedex, as they wanted for delivering the box to charge me some 60e for their "administrative" costs. that offcourse i didn't want to pay, so i rejected the package. that is why i would like to make a group buy to germany or the us, to awoid those costs and then the package from germany is just some 5-10e. also from the us is not so high (if not sent by fedex ;) ).
regards, uros

If it is the standard version, there is no SD at all from what I understand.. but there is an extra USB so maybe can get it to work on a stick. for the Plus version a microSD, I have not had any luck finding an SLC card for micro so far so then there is that.
Mod: Boris has identified SLC for Stick and Micro
microSD cards:
ATP Industrial Grade microSD: AF4GUDI
USB sticks:
Transcend JetFlash 185: TS4GJF185
so with an appropriate media the next big issue will likely be be support in the kernel. I have a plus on the way and will start testing soon.

Does meteohub on Sheevaplug v2 work?

If you are referring to the Guruplug:
I wouldn't even try to use it. At the moment the plug has severe heating issues that make it more or less unusable for 7*24 operations. It seems that Globalscale is working on a resolution, but they are not moving very fast.

they placed a fan into the guruplug server plus to correct their faulty design. I wouldn't recommend the guruplugs for now (I have one here and I am not convinced). SheevaPlug seems to work much more reliable now with the modified power supply.
