Alix 3D2 not rebooting nicely

I just finished rebuilding a remote station on an Alix 3D2, and when I left it, all was good.

I think I told it to reboot weekly, on Thursdays. But, what has happened, is it looks like it did its shutdown, but didn't restart.

I saw this a few times when I was working on it, and warm reboots just didn't work. Power off reboots did.

Has anyone else tripped over this? Now, I have a 2 hour drive to go power cycle it (yep, I guess I could have it hooked up on a remote switch... but... ) ;)

I have just upgraded to a 3D2 from a slug, so I did some tests:

The 'reboot' button on the maintance page works correctly for me.
The 'shutdown' button on the maintance page does not work. It shuts down MH but does not shutdown the 3D2.

I change the 'Scheduled Reboot' to daily @ 14:00 for a test, and that also worked correctly.

So the only problem I have is the 'shutdown' button is not working correctly for me?

Any one else?

I'm now here and I had to power cycle the device to get it up and running.

All that is in the log is:

Aug 19 12:00:12 localhost kernel: Kernel logging (proc) stopped.
Aug 19 12:00:12 localhost kernel: Kernel log daemon terminating.

And it stopped after that.

In the Meteohub log, I have:

logger (19.08.2010 12:00:05): parent process received termination signal (15).
logger (19.08.2010 12:00:05): child process received termination signal (15).

Meteohub issues a warm reboot at that time once a week. I don't think it is a bug in the Meteohub software, but it is a linux bug of some sort as it relates to the Alilx 3D2.

I'm not sure where to go next. I have disabled the scheduled reboot, so I hope there isn't any memory leakage.

Any thoughts?

Mike
