On the moment I have 2 Meteohub systems running, 1 in my Portugal house and 1 in my house in the Netherlands.
After a upgrade or a restart the system in my house in the Netherlands has a stat-up problem, sometimes I have to restart 10 times before the system is running well, the problems seems to be network related but the rest of the computer has no network problems.

When the system has a mis start it begins with:
Starting NFS common utlitities statd.
ntpupdate [2251] can't find host pool.ntp.org (and can't find the other time servers)
Error: temporary faillure in name resolution
etc etc
The the system tells the LAN IP and should be ready for login but it is'nt reachable trough the network so I have to close the VMware file and start it up agian.
The system has a given IP number and the IP for the DNS server is the same number as my other computers are using.
Also almost always I have to reconnect the USB UARD for the RFXcom receiver.

Anybody who has a idea whats wrong??

Yesterdag the sam eproblem by me after an update to 4.6r and a reboot.
Today i wanna try if it has to do with an unplanned powerdown.

I installed it on a HP T5720 thinclient with CF 4gb card.

Sebestian, I think the problem is in the image somewhere. This image was installed on a small Acer PC running XP and VMware. I thought the PC had some problems with the network. I copied the image to a small Atom board mounted in my server PC but the problem still exists.
I reinstalled Windows XP, VMware and a fresh downloaded image on the Acer PC, fired it up and totally no problems except that this PC is blacklisted due the activation code transfer.
So, I think the best thing for me to do is backup the system configuration and the data, remove the existing image with all the VMware files and install a new image on the Atom board.

Some questions before I start to do this, I hope somebody knows the answer?
Do I have to transfer the activation code whit a fresh installed image on the same PC?
How is the restore sequence, first restore the data and then the system config or vice versa?

For you, I don't know because I think you've installed a Linux system on your flashcard and I am a totally Linux digibeet

Experiences with the start-up problems until now (14 nov 2010)
Same VMware image running on 3 different computers, IP address is manual configured
Computer 1 is a Acer Veriton with a dual core AMD processor, virtual machine needs several restarts to run
Computer 2 is a Assrock A33ION motherboard with a dual core Atom processor, virtual machine needs several restarts to run
Computer 3 is a HP windows home server with a Celeron processor, virtual machine is starting flawless for several times.

I've downloaded a new VMware image and install this on the Atom system, with DHCP IP configuration the system has problems to get a IP number, same problems occurred after automatic assigning the IP number, needs several restarts to run, same happened with a manual configured IP number.

I concluded that the problem is somewhere in the network connection, it's bridged to the host computer so I disconnected and connected the network card during the start up process and the virtual machine started flawless.

Maybe a timing problem somewhere in the image?
