I would like to enter my WDL serial in the config file (wdlconfig.xml) but the "live directory of meteohub is not accessible by the home network...

file is taken on boot from "myweb/uploads". Please change it there and do a reboot to have it active.
you can also replace file in "/var/run/meteohub/perm" for testing (will be lost after reboot), but you will need ssh login to reach it there.
