How to add a solar in a jar?

Hi

Is't somehow possible to get MH calculate solar from 2 temp sensors (in a jar)?

I know that virtual sensors is possible, but what conversion do I need, to get W/m2?

If you know the temp difference that represents a 100% clear sky for your 'jar' at the current time of year, it's perfectly possible to get an estimated 'solar percentage'. I do that using a combination of a plug-in (which I'm happy to share) to calculate the temp difference and a virtual sensor to calculate the percentage.

You can define a virtual sensor to calculate a difference, but in this case the plug-in is needed because (unless I'm missing something) you can't then use the "temp difference" virtual sensor as input for a "temp difference as percentage" virtual sensor.

To convert that estimated percentage into a W/m2 equivalent you'd need to know what the full sun W/m2 figure was for the current location and time; if Meteohub calculates and provides that figure then it's a surprise to me (but sometimes I am surprised. :wink: ).

Hrmm sounds very complex to me...;)

I think MH should integrate solar in a jar function - just like Weather Display
