Sheevaplug shutdown

Hello, I just bought a Meteo SheevaPlug from NewIT. I just tried and it seems it works at this time. I need to move the sheevaplug and my WMR-200 i a better place but I just realized that I don't know how to shutdown the sheevaplug. From the NewIt forum they told me that it can not be managed like a standard sheevaplug as the meteo one is booting from the SD on MeteoHub. They also told me that the shutdown "button" should be somewhere in the Meteohub configuration.

As I don't want to risk anything by just removing the power plug, could you tell me how to shutdown easily and without any risk the Meteo SheevaPlug ?

Best regards

Hi, I'm also a new user, and didn't find the shutdown button on the Maintenance page, only a reboot button.

So, when I want to do a clean shutdown of my sheevaplug, I login with Putty (Windows) or ssh (Linux) and give the command:
shutdown -h now
wait a minute or two to give the plug the time to shutdown.
Then I can remove the power and move the sheevaplug to another place.

I only wonder what will happen wen we have a power outage ??

I've had to shutdown my Sheevaplug (an emergency power cycle reboot) by pulling the plug on several occasions when Meteohub was locked in some sort of loop (extremely high system usage) and not responding or allowing access to the Maintenance page. I had no apparent problems with the Meteohub after the power was restored.

So pulling the plug isn't a graceful shutdown, but it doesn't seem to cause problems.

From Meteohub manual : Meteohub via SSH (user "root", password "meteohub").

You should change the password using the "passwd" command(without the quotes), and don't forget your new password !!!
