Got the dreamplug. Followed the instructions to put meteohub on SD card. Managed to finally be able to access it by ethernet port.
access the meteo hub software via web-server interface. WLAN doesn't show up.

Went back to console -- ifconfig shows only eth0.

Rebooted off of the internal micro-SD. With the default debian from globalscaletechnologies, eth0, eth1 and uap0 are all visible under ifconfig. AP beacon is detected by laptop. (Which I could figure out how to make it start in client mode...)

Anyway, anyone know how I can get the WLAN to work under the meteohub boot off of the SDHC card?

I'm stunned that there have been no replies to this. Has anyone gotten the wifi to work with the dreamplug?

WLAN is only enabled when selected on the Meteohub network page and rebooted without a LAN cable connected.

Thanks. My problem is I can't find anywhere in the meteohub menus to enable it. The screen shots in the documentation show it on the same page as the LAN info. My screen show only the LAN. Is there somewhere else I need to go to do the enabling?

Then you don't have the expected WLAN module installed. In the Dreamplug sold in the beginning this is realized by an SD card sized WLAN module. Did you made any changes to that?

I bought from Globalscale and have made no changes. (Would have bought from the other source that sells the image along with it, but they didn't have a US option.) When it boots from the internal (non-SD) code, the wifi light turns on (blue) along with teh bluetooth light. It's been a couple of weeks, but I think my iphone saw the AP when it booted off of the internal code. (I remember I convinced myself that the hardware wasn't broken.)

I've seen places that have downloads for the internal boot code to enable AP mode, but I don't think that is what I want or need, so I haven't gotten that. I haven't had the unit apart, so I don't know what the hardware is.

When it boots from the meteohub image the WLAN light stays dark. From command line, ifconfig doesn't seem to see the wifi. (not sure if it is supposed to.)

WLAN does show up with my Dreamplug, when I use the specialized Meteohub DreamPlug image.
I don't know why it does not with your.

Trying to figure out why Meteohub can't see my WLAN hardware. Anything I can pull off of the unit that will help us debug this?

To make sure the updates are not the problem, I installed a fresh 4.7 image on the DreamPlug's SD card and upgraded to 4.9.
both version do show WLAN options. Comparing my dmesg with yours I have a sequence about loading "libertas" driver, that cannot be ssen in your dmesg listing:

should this be as simple as putting the correct .bin files in and loading the libertas module?

Sounds very reasonable. I found the attached firmware for this device. Please unzip and copy resulting bin file into folder /lib/firmware and reboot. I hope this fixes it.
