Alix 3D2 compact flash card nearly full

I have an Alix 3D2 running Meteohub from March 2009 until now without any problem.
It has a 4Gb Compact flash card installed.
The data area at this moment is 82% full, so the data of each month consumes approximately 2% of the capacity.
Conclusion is that in about 9 months it will be completely full as i do not want to erase historical data.
I am considering 2 options:
1. replace the 4Gb CF card with one with a larger capacity or
2. replace the Alix 3D2 with a Silverstone DC01 (this system does not use CF cards and this seems to me more stable)
I have a few questions before i make my choice:
- is there a simple way to copy the 4Gb CF card to one with a larger capacity and subsequently expand the Meteohub image (the images on the website are all default 4Gb) to use the larger capacity?
- does the Silverstone DC01 automatically use the maximum size of the hard drive (for example if i install a 16Gb SSD drive, does it use the full capacity)?
Thanks
