Hi Fellow Users,

My Shivaplug seems to be using two IP addresses: x.x.x.77 and the one I assigned to it, x.x.x.202

Both show up in my router's attached devices list. Does anyone know if the unit really needs to use .77 ? I'd like to clean this up. I get occaisional connection errors to WeatherUnderground.

Hi,

This is as designed, there will be always an aliased address (192.168.1.77). Reason was that there were initially quite a few configurations that were no longer contactable due to ip address changes. Boris created a fixed IP address, so that you can always contact MH.

If you have connection errors to Wundergound, I expect that something else is going on, unless you have another device on your network that is using 192.168.1.77.
