I am interested in buying this but I am wondering if the device will recover the data that has been saved on the Vantage Pro 2 when there is a power outage. In my current set up the Weatherlink software on the PC will download it.

Yes, it does.
If the downtime is long enough (more then a few minutes) the missing data will be downloaded. I have had that occur when there was a power outage and the envoy/console went on batteries. After the outage the meteohub starts and reads the logged data.

meteobridge does not read out the davis interbal logger, meteohub does.
