Meteobridge not communicating with Vantage Pro2 **solved**

I just bought a new meteobridge and I cannot seem to get it to communicate with my Vantage Pro2. It works fine using Davis's weather link software. The date and time are correct on the console and the meteobridge. I've tried 2 different USB-to-serial adapter with the same results, and I have even used a small USB hub with both USB-to-serial adapters. I've rebooted the Pro2 console. I've rebooted the meteobridge with the every combination of the both my USB-to-serial adapters and USB hub connected and disconnected. The results are always the same. The system log always looks like what I include below, with one exception. When I rebooted the Pro2 console I made sure the USB-to-serial adapter was plugged-in to the meteobridge and the system log only showed "usb port resetted" until the Pro2 console became active.

Code: Select all

And repeat.

I don't know what I am doing wrong or if I am doing anything wrong. Any help is appreciated because this is quickly becoming frustrating. Thanks.

Can you please send your Meteobridge MAC (displayed on "system" tab") to "info(at)meteobridge.com"?

Looks to me like a hung-up data logger. Please disconnect console from AC power, batteries and USB.
Then power on console again, then connect USB to Meteobridge. The console does not like to have the
data logger inserted when the console is already up and running.

I did this again as you requested. Same result. Any more ideas? I will try this same process again tomorrow too. A storm is approaching and I want to make sure the rain amount is recorded. (Davis WeatherLink works just fine for right now.) Thanks.

Okay, so now I have a new problem. On the System tab I noticed an option for version control. Just as an experiment I switched this option to version 2.0. After I did this and rebooted, I cannot get past the landing page. I've left the device on for a while and still I am stuck at the landing page. I reset the network settings to the default by holding down the button on the TL-MR3020. I also went to the cloud simulator to try to get past that page. Nothing. The LED is stuck fast-blinking won't stop and the landing page won't go away.

I am sending my MAC address to email given above.

Okay, a factory reset restored the operation of the device, but it is still not working with the Davis Vantage Pro2.

Login tells me that you are using a RS232 data logger and a home-brew PL2303 based USB-serial connector.
You are lucky, PL2303 based converters are supported, but you may need to put a mandatory
USB 2.0 hub (passive is ok) in between.

After having the Hub and logger connected correctly it turns out that Vantage was not operating
in standard baudrate 19200, but 9600. This is the reason why no valid data comes through.

My console was set at 9600 as default. Although it was supposed to be 19200 by default. A quick Google search showed that nobody knew really how to change the baud rate. The Weatherlink manual tells you how. Page 7 of the paper manual (page 9 of the PDF file).
http://www.davisnet.com/product_documen ... 0_6555.pdf

In short, press and hold the DONE button then press the - button. Then simply press DONE to navigate to the baud rate setting.

If my console wasn't set to the default baud rate, yours might not either.
