Edimax Technology Co., Ltd EW-7811Un 802.11n Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8188CUS]
works out of the box

I added the following lines in /etc/network/interfaces

auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet static
#iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wireless-essid xxxxxxxxxxxx
wireless-key xxxxxxxxxxxxx
address 192.168.0.23
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.254

Doesn't meteohub provide wlan settings on "network" page instead of editing the network config file directly?
It does for the WLAN USB stick I tested with.

worked out of the box for me, just had to login once via the Ethernet connection to put in the WPA2 Keys.
