TP-LINK TL-MR3020 wifi light constantly flashing

I have set up Meteobridge on a TP-LINK TL-MR3020, and it works perfect. However, the wifi/WLAN light flashes constantly, 24/7. Does that mean it is constantly talking to the wireless router? I don't see why it would need to be broadcasting/receiving every second of the day? I could connect to the router by Ethernet but that would mean locating it in a inconvenient place and could struggle with the connection to the weather station.
Thanks for any help.

What you see is all the netwotk traffic, not only the traffic from and to the MR3020.
Every wireless devices has to "read" or listen to all the wireless data to find the messages for that device.
