MR-3020 - desperately need help

Hi,

I have the MR-3020 modem and until today, everything worked fine. However, for some reason, this night something went wrong, maybe it just got frozen or something, either way, I restarted the modem, but needed to perform reset. This meant I lost the wifi settings and therefore had to connect via ethernet.
Now, the problem is, that no matter what I do, I am unable to get into the administration. I have my PC connected via ethernet with the MR-3020. When I turn it on, the power button goes on and after a few seconds, the WPS/RESET button starts flashing. The mode is set to AP.
I tried setting my PCs IP to 192.168.1.2 and then tried 192.168.1.1 in my browser, but nothing, it just shows "Page cannot be displayed". Same goes for 192.168.0.254....

In other words, what do I have to do now to log into it, I have meteobridge loaded inside, I think it is just some stupid problem with the IP adresses and maybe I need to press something, I tried pressing the reset button, but that didnt help either. Does anyone know how to get "into" the administration?

The only thing I was able to determine was that when I set my PC IP to 192.168.1.2 and press the WPS button, then I get some ping of 192.168.1.1, but when I enter that into the browser, it shows the page cannot be displayed

One more thing I have t oask... I just realized... I have the ethernet cable plugged into my laptop, do I have to plug it into the router and then access it from the laptop connected to the same router? Because right now, the device is pluged via ethernet to my laptop, which is offline and if I wait, after some time the WPS button starts fast blinking

Yes,
All devices via a cable to the router.
Also switch off the wifi in the laptop is possible.
Do not connect the Meteobridge to the Laptop.

I am having the same problem with a loss of connection to my NetGear wireless router after I upgraded from another router. Right now I have my MR-3020 wiring to my router and the IP is recognized. I am however unable to log into it using my long standing user name Of Meteobridge and a unique password. Using the default Mr-3020 user and pass, before the re-flash, also does not work. I was hoping by logging in and going to the network setup, that I may find the problem.

Even more aggravating is when I revert to the old, and what had been working wireless router, It also does not work.

I have a dongle clone and when attached to it of of my Davis uni, I get only rapid flashing LED and no connection or recognitions that my IP of 192.168.1.45 is connected, jut shows as "dead".

I need some guidance please.

Thanks

Did you consider reading the wiki?
http://wiki.meteobridge.com/wiki/index. ... Findout_IP

"Findout IP" and "Back to Defaults" might be worth a look, or two

Thanks,

I do know and verified my IP using "Advanced IP Scanner" but it is not accepting my meteobridge "user" and my unique password. When I enter meteobridge and "my password", I get "Authorization Required" only. I have it directly wired to my router at this time attempting this logon.

Edit: I reset the TL-MR3020 and have logged on using the default user and password, meteobridge and meteobridge.

I returned everything to defaults for my TPLINK TL-MR3020. I setup the network entering the SSID and password for my router. I have it set to receive IP address via DHCP automatically.

I disconnected from the router and computer and plugged the MR3020 into by USB dongle from the Davis Vantage Pro but still get solid green, to blinking green and ends on fast blink. The fixed IP is not connecting to my router. I also rebooted my cable modem and wireless router. The NetGear wireless router is fed from the cable modem

After DHCP didn't work, I connected to the router again and established this statically:

IP 192.168.1.45 (IP of meteobridge in MR3020)
netmask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
DNS 127.0.0.1

What do I need to do now please?

Regards,

When it stays at fast blinking it is not connecting to the Internet.
As you were able to connect after "back to defaults" via LAN,
only explanation is that your WiFi settings are not valid.

Can you select your SSID from the SSID drop-down list? (Your SSID is not allowed to be hidden, that will not work!)
Did you choose the right encryption method? mostly WPA2?
Does you passphrase include special characters?
Did you press "save and apply and reboot" after having done the WiFi setup?

Please answer all questions above, the error must be something around those...

My responses:

)

Yes, it was available in the drop-down and I selected it.
Did you choose the right encryption method? mostly WPA2?
Yes, WPA2
Does you passphrase include special characters?
No it is letters and numbers only

I changed the router back to use the router as the DHCP server. I still cannot connect to the internet from the MR3020 on wireless.

Glenn

Did you press "save and apply and reboot" after having done the WiFi setup?

Yes I did.

Thank you

Subsequent to the above I have:

- I did a hard reset on the Netgear router to return all to default values. This made no difference in connectivity.

- I revised the wireless SSID, saved this and then activated "guest" login. I set the guest name to the original unmodified SSID, same as SSID on the MR3020. No password is required. This made no difference.

I don't know what to look at now.

Thanks

It is working again now and not using the guest logon!

I believe the final key was waiting longer once the MR3020 went into fast blink. Eventually it established the connection. I thought that if it got to fast blink it would no longer attempt a connection.

you can see the expected flow of blinks/actions from this flow chart:
