... low level copy via dd on the base devices. When new card is larger you can use fdisk on base device to enlarge data partition and later use resize2fs to enlarge data file system. I will need you to have aLinux system at hand that can access the SD cards. You will need some deeper device ...

Re: Storage data file at 85%
you can shut down the system, do a low level copy (dd or similar) to a larger storage medium, start meteohub with that medium.
then you can do in place enlargement of data partition as described by a couple of users in this forum. search for "resize2fs".

Re: Upgrade 4gb to 8gb SD-Card on SheevaPlug?
hi, there is a detailed report somewhere in this forum how to enlarge the data partition on a running meteohub system.
When you search a bit you should find it.
....found it

Re:Datasector on 4GB CF Card
4GB will last for 5 years or more.
You can use larger cards. Put the 4GB image on that and growth 3rd partition via fdisk (I don't recommend this to a novice, as you can easily delete your CF card by this) and grow ext3 file system on 3rd partition with "resize2fs" after that.

... login on Meteohub via ssh, use fdisk "fdisk /dev/mmcblk0" and delete 3rd partition, create a new 3rd partition that start directly after 2nd and uses all space up to the end, write changes and leave fdisk. Next make use of "resize2fs /dev/mmcblk0p3" to expand the filesystem to the changed partition.
