I bought a new one and it to couldn't connect they wifi. But I was planning on buying one for my house when I get a weather station. They both work with direct cable and therefore I moved the station to buy router yesterday.

Sounds similar to my problem, I decided I wanted to reboot it after being on for like 60 days. Gets fresh updates etc. But it got stuck in reboot and not able to connect they wifi anymore....bi wonder if it's related..

I should also mention that I must of not done the reset procedure correctly the first time, thankfully. I was able to get the first unit connection settings to reset to default
Both work correctly when directly wired.

No idea what changed/ happened to make it not cooperate suddenly.

So I bought a new tp link and it to won't work, easily so far, to connect to an existing router. It only connects with direct cable but not wifi.

The router isn't a mesh router, that I can see. It's Linksys EA8300

Anyone have any ideas? It has worked for months/ years without issues and now ...

So I just realized I can look at the settings before I unplugged it to move back upstairs last week, gets what it says when it was connected the 1 time u was finally about to get it to..

You had the same issue? What are you running? Tp link?

In terms of the version, I think there's 3, does the version make much of a difference in terms of it not resetting to factory?

I would of I could but I don't have the actual unit nearby

On top of I am able to get into the wrt settings thing but only for about 10 seconds before it will reboot again.

No idea, I've had no issues with this router for years using wifi.

I did order a new one.

It has had issues reconnecting sometimes after power failures after a few hours

How would I know which version?
