how to change smb.conf

Hi,

For some time now the samba server in my 4.7 Meteohub and 2.3c NSLU is trying to become the master browser on my home network with some undesired effects.
So I dug into it and I find that there's a file smb.conf that can be altered to let the metehub never become a master browser at all by entering the following text.

domain master = no
local master = no
preferred master = no
os level = 0

How can I do this on the metehub?

Unfortunately I'm not a Unix expert and I don't know where to find and how to add these lines to smb.conf.
I have downloaded putty.exe, but I'm not getting any further than ls -al.

Any help is appreciated.

After some exploring I managed to add the lines to smb.conf, using vi.
Now let's hope for the best!
The errors also have disappeared: this meteohub is a regular miracle!
