Meteohub questions

Post by lks6869 »

I have read through the v4.7 manual and I still have a few questions about operating Meteohub (on Sheevaplug).
1.
What is the purpose of the "Recompute" button on the Maintenance page? The manual only says
"If computed data should be invalid be any reason, or if you doubt they might not be
correct, you can recompute them completely from scratch by pressing the button Recompute"

So, if I have no reason to believe my data is corrupted then there is no reason ever to use Recompute??

2.
What is the best way to delete all weather data in the memory? For example if I am testing the weather station in a lab for a few weeks and then I go to the real site to install the system, I would want to delete all of previous data.

3.
Is there a way to export a graph? For example export it as a png.

Thank you for any help.

1) needed sometimes, when changes are do to the raw data. for example deleting data on "inspect data" pages.

2) kill files named "weather/yyyymm/raw" and do a manual recomputation (see 1)

3) what do you mean by export? They can be uploaded via ftp, for example.

3) So when I create a graph and the window pops up with the graph, is that window also saved as a file somewhere as a png that I can ftp? What directoy is it saved in? I made some graphs and then looked in the /graphs directory but I didn't see the graphs saved anywhere...

it works a bit different.

On page "graph uploads" you specify which graph to generate in defined schedules. Each time the time schedule triggers a graph is generated with actual data and uploaded via ftp. If you check the corresponding mark the graph is also stored on the meteohub in a defined folder, which you can reach as a smb share in your LAN.
