Snow Density formula

I am using a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station with a Davis rain gauge heater installed. Snow is melted and measured as liquid equivalent. Has anyone out there had any experience or used a formula for converting the liquid equivalent into snow depth?

Snow density is dependent on the air temperatures. I guess you could use this New Snowfall to Estimated Meltwater Conversion Table in reverse to estimate snow depth: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/con ... wfall.html

Edit: So on that conversion table, it looks like the following melt water to newly fallen snow, conversion multipliers are used for these temp ranges:
34 to 28 = 10x
27 to 20 = 15x
19 to 15 = 20x
14 to 10 = 30x
9 to 0 = 40x
-1 to -20 = 50x
-21 to -40 = 100x
