WH-1080 Support should be easy ?

Post by rapunzel »

Hi,

I own an WH-1080 Station, a very popular an cheap Station sold via a discounter fpr just 59€

Other names are:
The weather station Watson W-8681(UK)
Scientific Sales Pro Touch Screen Weather Station(US)
TOPCOM NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC 265NE(BE)

This product is made by Fine Offset Electronics Co.LTD and branded by several companies, some with label logo on the front of the device and some are without.

A Linux utility exists on http://www.pendec.dk/weatherstation2007.htm, in the Forum you find even a tool for Memory dump and a Description of the Memory Map.

So in my opinion, if a command line tool exists already, can it be integrated into Meteohub easily ?

Thank you

Hi,
I had a look into the sources and from a first spot implementation of this into Meteohub should work without too much of programming.

Only thing to keep in mind, from my experience with implementing new weather stations in Meteohub it is quite a long way until all the aspects work well (check for valid sensor data, low bat, etc, etc). I have learnt this the hard way ;-)

Is there someone here, who has a WH-1080 that could be connected for some time to a Meteohub?
That would allow me remote testing, if I should decide to implement this.

I have a WH-1080 running with all sensors. And what now ? Should I buy a NSLU2 via AMAZON and you give me beta-SW for testing ? Or what ist the plan ?

I have my Netgear right beside and an ARCOR Flatrate, so the NSLU2 could be online very soon ...

Thanx

Hallo
