Re: Iconnect DEAD
I am assuming you've downloaded the latest and greatest image from the website here (not downloaded as a torrent from somewhere else).
Did you receive any errors installing the image to your USB stick? (simply copying the image to the stick wont work)
Are you sure you're pressing the reset button correctly? You should be able to feel a gentle "click" while pressing the reset button with a paperclip. In a quiet room and if you have good hearing, you can even hear it click.
Are you sure you're holding in the reset button and all the while holding it in, then applying power? Once power is applied, it will take about 10 seconds of continuous holding the reset button in to see the flashing blue light turn red. Once the light turns red, you can stop holding in the reset button.

Re: Iconnect DEAD
Yes, i have downloaded it from the site, as it says that i could try it for x month and try it out before i buy it, i use the tool from smartbedded to install it on the USB memory and i push the reset button before i connect the mains but it would not work, and i could not install the orginal software again to the iconnect, the orginal software was downloaded via the link on smartbedded.
I have return the iconnect to the shop where i have bought it (saying it was DOA) and got another one, but now i am a bit worried to give it another try, to put the meteohub software on the iconnect, is it possible to buy meteohub on an USB stick so that you know that it is really an ok stick? Because in Sweden where i live it seems to be difficult to get any USB-stick which is SLC

Re: Iconnect DEAD
With regard to the reset button, it does not take much force to properly hold it in "reset" mode. If you have the replacement Iconnect, you can always simply experiment first with pressing the reset button (without any mains power applied) so you can "feel" the proper operation of the switch. Doing so will not cause any problems. Once you have a good understanding of the reset switch and how it works, you can then move on to flashing the Iconnect with your USB stick.
Just so you know, I had some initial difficulty to flash my Iconnect at first. This was caused by a defective USB stick that was not compatible with the Iconnect / Meteohub system. In my case, I was able to successfully install the Meteohub/Linux image onto the USB stick , but I was not able to boot the Iconnect into recovery mode (this is what you are doing by applying mains power while holding the reset switch in.) I knew there was a problem because the rapidly flashing blue light would turn red and stay red forever never proceeding further. Replacing the defective USB stick allowed me to boot properly.
