I have purchased a second weather station, the ELV WDE1 and after a couple of hours I'm getting this in meteohub log:
logger (08.02.2012 18:31:09): no signal from station 2 (WDE1) for 450 seconds, station to be restarted.
logger (08.02.2012 18:31:09): disconnect station 2 (WDE1).
logger (08.02.2012 18:31:39): station 2 (WDE1), can't open device /dev/ttyUSB0: Protocol error
I'm running a Sheeva plug, a TFA Nexus and the ELV WDE1 connected through a powered USB hub.
After connecting the WDE1, there are 2 new ports: /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyMH111. It seems to work on both, is one of them "better"?
A meteohub reboot or disconnecting and reconnecting the ELV WDE1 solves the problem but only for another couple of hours.
Is this a problem of meteohub or the ELV WDE1?
ELV WDE1 is running firware 1.2 and set to defaults:
9600 bits/s
OpenFormat (for LogView)
Will altering the settings help?
ELV WDE1 after a couple of hours - Protocol error?

Re: ELV WDE1 after a couple of hours - Protocol error?
MH111 is better unless you don't chnage the USB port you have the station plugged in.
Re: ELV WDE1 after a couple of hours - Protocol error?
Thank you for the information, I have switched to /dev/ttyMH111.
I have also done some other troubleshooting and it seems, that the problem was a too long USB cable.
Now with a shorter one (2m) it works for 36 hours without a problem.
I don't want to make a conclusion now, but it looks promising
