lacrosse 2317 and iconnect with meteohub

Post by bignick243 »

Are these compatable with each other? It keeps telling me the are no sensors assign to it on the senor page. I'm using serial to usb and it seems to communicate with my laptop via the heavy weather software. But when I plug it into the base station nothing happens.

Could you please post a screen dump of "weather station" page?

Never mind..... I got it figured out. I was using a belkin usb to serial connector at first. Then I found some random usb to serial connector and everything started working. I did some looking around and found that this connector has a FTDI chip in it. I also tried another random usb to serial cable with an FTDI chip and it works as well. I guess having a usb to serial connection with this certain type of chip is necessary for weather stations to communicate to the meteo software on the iconnect.

Most common chipsets pl230x, ftdi and cp210x are supported and a bunch of others I don't remember. The cheap ones sold everywhere are mostly pl230x or FTDI.

I ran into a new problem. I currently have the iconnect connected to a switch and have it setup up for DHCP I also have the wireless lan setup for DHCP. When connected to the switch I can log into the meteohub interface and see that I have two different ip addresses for both wired and wireless lans. I can access the interface with both ip's and everything works ok but as soon as I unplugg the iconnect from the switch I cannot access the meteohub interface from the wireless lan ip address. When I try to ping the iconnect it times out. As soon as I plug it back into the switch I can ping both addresses and access the interface via both ip address without a problem. I have verified all of my wireless settings and I still cannot get it to work. Do you have any ideas? Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.

issue a reboot with wlan selected on network page and then disconnect lan. when it comes up again without detecting lan connection, wlan ip should be operational.
