error ftp upload. 2.4a ** solved **

Hello you all,

I am Richard from holland. My english is not so good but i will try and do my best.

I have The following problem.
I trying to set a ftp upload adres.
I follow the instuctions and try to send a test file.

But i only this error message:

Error on system call: /usr/bin/ncftpput -V -u username -p password -P 21 ftp://home.orange.nl \\ /home/meteohub/meteohub-upload.test >>/var/log/messages 2>>/var/log/messages
Error: Test file "meteohub-upload.test" has not been uploaded (Return Code 2048: Unknown Error).

I really don't know what it means, en what i must do to make it work.

Can Sombody help my with this?

Your target directory looks to be "\\". That is not expected (you are in linux country). Try "/" instead or keep it blank.

I have try'd to keep it blank and i have try'd the / . but both wil not work. and again a error:

Please try with just "home.orange.nl". I don't know if ncftp strips the "ftp://" prefix.

I have set the ftp, and i have set a upload to the weather network ''hetweeractueel'' very 5 minutes.

But there is no upload???

How can i solve that?

Please check teh following:

1) test if you have the ftp upload configured correctly (test file appears on your web server in the directory where you told meteohub)

2) mark weather network "hetweeractueel" and mark "Upload data for Weather Networks via FTP"

3) check if a file named "hetweeractueel.txt" gets uploaded to your web server.

4) If the file is on your webserver, then you have to tell the weather network where to find your data. Will probably be an URL pointing to your web server and the data file. Please contact the admin of hetweeractueel how to do this.

If you don't have a web server to park the weather data until hetweeractueel, then Meteohub itself can hold this files for access by the weather network. However, this will require your router to allow acces from the Internet and you will need a dyndns account to give your dynamic WAN IPs a constant name.

I have also a problem with Het Weer Actueel-network.:(
I have marked weather network HetWeerActueel, but only a file wetterpage24.txt is uploading to the webserver (I didn't mark the weather network wetterpage24 !). Is there may be something wrong with this update 2.4a? Or did I something wrong?
May be I have to put a HetWeerActueel-format on the Meteohub?
Uploading Forecast, Graphs, etc is no problem.

Since the update to version 2.4a I see on the system info-page of Meteohub
Weather Network "Rapid Fire": stopped,
but Weather underground is still working in Rapid-Fire-mode. A False alarm?
Other weather networks (AWEKAS, CWOP) OK.

I hope you can help with HetWeerActueel network. The Dutch meteohub-users will be very happy with that, after the yesterdays-evening disaster...:S

Any chance to have a look your system. I would need port 7777 and 22 opened on your router and forwarded to your Meteohub LAN IP.

Point 1 and 2 is working and correct. But point 3 isn't.

There is no upload file from meteohub calld hetweeractueel.txt. Only the meteohub-upload.test file.

So what i doing wrong?

I have found a bug related to weather data upload to "hetweeractueel".

Give freshly announced update 2.4b a try. (and press "save" on the weather network page of meteohub to propagate the changes to the crontab.)

Could it be this bug has re-appeared ??

hetweeractueel.txt doesn't get uploaded, but alle files upload fine (clientraw.txt etc, wetterpage24.txt, wp_werte.txt)
Any ideas??
