NMEA data from wind sensor connected to Meteohub.

Post by supersprocket »

Hi everyone.

I`m very new to this and hopefully someone here can send me in the correct direction. I have an Gill WindObserver™ II Wind Speed Sensor that are sending the data over an NMEA string. Does the Meteohub software support this and would I get it to work? Anyone used this before?

Any thoughts are highly appreciated.

NMEA is new to me. Could you please point to a refernce where I could see details how wind (and other data) is coded in there?
In general Meteohub is able to make use of self programmed plugins. Manual gives some details on this.

That seems to be very common in marine equipment. I am proud owner of a (affordable) ultrasonic wind sensor from http://www.lcjcapteurs.com
I added a zipped pdf with the NMEA sentence descriptions.
