Sensors not assigned - New Install

Post by stevepohorly »

Hello
I have the Davis VantageVue and have 4.9q firmware updated on Meteohub

The VantageVue console is 1 foot from my computer and the weather station is in the same room, as I am trying to configure things and want it all kept extremely close to avoid distance issues

the VantageVue console displays the indoor and outdoor temps, so i know it is picking them up.

however, i have followed the installation guide for metoehub and am having the same error for a day now, that the sensors are not assigned.
I have not assigned any sensors myself because as i read it, they will populate automatically.

please help point me in the right direction.

thanks in advance
steve

I am answering my own question.

I think i am getting closer.
I finally came across a page on Meteohub dedicated to the different weatherstations, and it Casually mentions that the baud rate for the vantagevue must be 19200.

Now, I finally have the Indoor, Outdoor, Rain and wind sensors showing up on the sensor page.

They are all "#" "0" and have no ID or Names, but at least i have something

wow, that was a nice find

http://wiki.meteoplug.com/Hardware

why is documentation so difficult!?!?

Now you get to choose the ID such as wind0, rain0, etc. Then you need to type in the name you want to use such as "Vue-wind", then click Save $ Restart Data Logging.
