CWOP Altimeter, raw pressure & VP Pro2 is still inconsistent

Post by jmcafee »

MH 4.9u b6960 does not appear to calculate altimeter (and SLP) consistent with other metrics, and I do not believe it is reading the raw pressure. The console is a Davis Vantage Pro2, pre-2006, firmware 1.9, USB logger.

Altitude for MH and console set for 1299m. CWOP set to send altimeter. Barometer offset in the console is 0.58 hPa, none in MH. Temp for SLP calc is th0 (outdoor).

Note all of the times are within 10 minutes. I've extracted the data from the logs (original available on request) and what was sent to CWOP:

* Nearby airport: SLP 1027.02, Alt 1025.16
* MH SLP based on station alt & temp: station 871.3, SLP 1021.7, Alt 1018.3
* MH SLP based on reading from weather station: station 871.5, SLP 1024.3, Alt 1018.5
* VPLive (reading the console data): station calculated 876.06, SLP 1024.14, Alt Madis 1023.6. Note that the calc station pressure is virtually identical to the displayed pressure if the console altitude is set to 0.

In summary, MH appears to have a negative error for the raw pressure and altitude relative to other metrics. Is MH reading the LOOP2 raw pressure?
