UV data missing in WD

Post by samikki »

I noticed that when using Meteohub as a data source for Weather Display (stationless mode), all other data flows to WD just fine, except UV radiation (Solar).

WD doesn't record any incoming Solar data now. I don't know if this is a problem with WD or Meteohub, but I thought to ask first here.

When going through WD settings I was not able to find any related settings. Weird thing was that if I go to Control Panel / Solar Sensor Setup / Current Readings, the "Current raw reading" shows current outside temperature plus 0.1 degrees instead of UVI.

I know that UV radiation data is recorded correctly by Meteohub because I can see proper readings in Sensor page and the UV data goes through to Weather Underground.

I am using Oregon Scientific WMR-100 with UVN-800.

All helpful hints appreciated.

Which version of WD?

I don't have a UV sensor myself so I can't be sure, but I have a vauge feeling that Brian added that quite late (though searching Weather-Watch.com for meteohub and uv didn't bring up any matches - maybe it was some other sensor I am thinking of)? However always best to have the latest version in place before asking questions on Weather-Watch.com.

One way of double checking before you ask would be to take a look at the text in:

View => WS2010-13/WS2500 data logger setup/info

That can be hard to read as it flies by, but if you [RightClick][SelectAll], then [Ctrl][C] you can grab a copy.

Then search the text for your UV sensor. You should see in in the xml that comes from Meteohub, the question is can you find something to indicate that WD is noticing it.

You'll see comments in the text like "yes wind", can you find anything equivalent for the UV sensor?

If not it may be that you need to post a "Feature Suggestion" on Weather-Watch.com asking for UV support to be added.

If UV is being picked up then the problem may be some other setting, e.g. on
Control Panel => Solar Sensor => Solar Sensor in a Jar Setup, is 'Use solar in jar to overide estimated solar from UV' ticked?

Looks like WD does not recognize UV values. I can see UV values in the XML data but there's no "yes" confirmation for them.

I'll ask for fix at weather-watch.

Thanks for the help!
