Error: AirCam initialization failed **solved**

I've just bought and installed a new Ubiquiti AirCam for the purpose of Meteohub uploading weather cam pictures to WeatherUnderground. After installation I loaded the latest version of 1.2 firmware in the camera (from the Ubiquiti web site). The new camera is up and running on my LAN and I can access it with a web browser.

However, Meteohub gives the message "Error: AirCam initialization failed" after I click the "Initialize Cam" button and shows a red X in the WeatherCam box. The IP address and password for the camera are entered correctly. I did reboot my Meteohub today to load the latest software in it but no change.

I saw that you are working on this problem already. Is there anything I can try or should I wait for the next Meteohub release?

Thank you for the version 1.9 upgrade, it installed this evening.

Even after the upgrade the same "Error: AirCam initialization failed" message appeared. Could it be that Meteobridge assumes the Ubiquiti AirCam has the factory default user name of "ubnt"? I tried changing the user name in my camera to "ubnt" and then the initialize button did work! (Perhaps sometime in the future the 'Weather Cam' box on the 'Select Station' tab could have a way to enter a user name along with the IP address and password.)

Now for the next error. On the Weather Network tab this error appears when Meteobridge tries to upload the camera picture to Weather Underground:
"Error: Weather Underground Camera FTP upload failed: Could not preserve times for _wucam: UTIME failed."
The Camera ID and Password are the correct ones for my camera account on WU. Is there something else I should try?

ad 1) yes, Meteobridge assumes that user name is 'ubnt'. I can add a user name input field, but this will add more things that can be configured the wrong way.

ad 2) to my analysis, there is a problem at WU right now regarding cam picture upload in general. I am working on this with WU. Nothing that can be fixed by Meteobridge right now.

WU cam upload should work fine with just released Meteobridge version.
Just reboot to get this version running on your Meteobridge.

Just select "Weather Underground Camera" at "Weather Network" tab. There you can give all credentials needed for upload to WU.

I get error 303, Failed to load a resource: Error # 2036 when I click on today's video at "http://www.wunderground.com/webcams/vil ... urrent.mp4[/u]"

I think it may be because I previously set an ftp upload videocam user name before today's setup in weather network tab. There seems to be no way to delete that obsolete videocam.

How do I delete that videocam and revert to meteo bridge cam setup?

This is what I get:

Meteobridge settings successfully reloaded
Error: Weather Underground Camera FTP upload failed: Could not read reply from control connection -- timed out. ncftpput: cannot open webcam.wunderground.com: username and/or password was not accepted for login.

For meteobridge upload, what are the URL or FTP SETTINGS at WU?.

No camera password user combo works and I have tried them all

Please check what your CAM ID is with WU. Normally it is a string indicating your state/city followed by CAM1.
Password is your WU account login password, not the one you are using with WU weather data submission.

WU sometimes presents login failures, although login data is fine. They are working on this issue.
After a while this error disappears again.

If you are just looking for a way to store your most recent weather cam picture and you might
want to have that annotated with weather data, the newly introduced meteobridge weather camera
feature might be the right thing for you. In that case you dont have to struggle with WU issues.

Link looks different from what I expect since in meteobridge I specified cam ID as villieweCAM1and that does not show up in link.

WU does have major issues with the webcams right now

Looking at your site it seems there´s no image avail for creating a loop

But the whole webcam function seems to be broken and the images may be there, but the frontend view does not show the real condidtion

i.e my camera is updated from time to time, but with my settings is says

active : no
