The Meteobridge will not recognize our public WLAN network.
I have gone through the setup with an ethernet cable, magicip, and established connection with the internet, see data in the Live Data panel, etc. BUT...
When I change from LAN to WLAN (with the proper access credentials), Save and Reboot, disconnect the ethernet cable, then the WLAN connection is never successful. It only works when cabled.
Please assist.

Re: problem with WLAN connection
It works for hundreds of users fine.
What signal strength do you have? (SSID dropdown tells you in db)
What is the name of the SSID? Any special characters in there?
Any special characters in the pass phrase?
Are you sure using the right encryption method?
Did you select dynamic IP (DHCP)?

I realize it should work as it does for so many others ... Just don't understand why it doesn't ...admin wrote:It works for hundreds of users fine.

signal is about -70
no special characters: just 3 alphas in all caps
no special passphrase: single string all letters, no numbers
encryption set properly
DHCP: yes
I'm working within a public school network, and the same config and passphrase works on smart phones, etc; just not the meteobridge...
Confused.

Re: problem with WLAN connection
we're on 802.11n, so setting to "auto" should work, correct? I've even tried 802.11g+n, but no luck... just fast-blinking reset button and power light
Re: problem with WLAN connection
-70 db is an extremely poor signal strength. Please try to get better RF signal by moving the Meteobridge around a bit.

Re: problem with WLAN connection
Turns out the public network that I was directed to use is a "captive portal" that requires authentication via a web page, and with no interface, the meteobridge cannot connect. So, we are looking at other solution to connect. Thanks for your attention to this post.
FYI: signal strength (-70 to -50 dBm) is fine on our campus...
