Vantage Vue fails to get data after a while **solved**

Post by SandAndSail »

Hello. I have read that MeteoBridge does not work with USB 1.x devices. I have also read that the newer Davis logger is 2.0. It was worth a try, so I connected mine direct to the bridge and it worked. But it fails to get data from the logger after a while (maybe 1/2 to 1 hour). Reboot and it works again. On reboot, the log reads the same each time, but it's working.

Seems to me that if it's a 2.0 problem, there would be a failure from the start. Can someone please advise if this sort of failure is reminiscent of a 1.x-2.0 problem or if it's something different? Thank you.

you ALWAYS need the USB 2.0 hub.

Well, damn. Right you are. Thank you.

Back to my log file, is the failure to get the firmware version and internal logger normal? I would presume that if it was normal, the device wouldn't show it as an error of sorts.

"no reading of Vantage's internal logger" is not an error, it just reminds that historical data logged inside the Davis unit is not loaded into Meteobridge when starting operation.
