DC01 and VP2+ solar data error provided by meteohub

Post by METEOshop »

one my friend has DC01 + VP2. He claim, that after few hours of normal behaviour solar sensor in WDL is showing just -% instead of value% - see http://tomas.tbt.cz/josefov/ alternative http://tomas.tbt.cz/josefov/all-sensors.txt
He send me DC01 and I tested it with our VP2 several days and didn't notice such behaviour (26.01. - 27.01. from log below). However after return back to friend, it started again to do such strange behaviour.
On sensor page is value ok, but problem is in WDL and also in parameter in file all-sensors.txt

I noticed that all-sensors.txt file doesn't have value for parameter: actual_sol0_radiation_rel
when I connected meteohub to our station, this parameter was generated well.

There is just one difference between our VP2 and customer's, our firmware in station is 1.80, customer has 1.90.
Do you have any idea what should be problem or how to solve this?

Michal

Re: DC01 and VP2+ solar data error provided by meteohub

Looks like solar data drops off from time to time. You can make Meteohub
sticking to old values for a longer time period by increasing the "data hold"
value on "weather station" page. You can also check on "sensor" page, if
data is rendered red, which indicates a too long period of no data
coming in.

Sensor page seems to be OK, data are valid and fresh. I never noticed data in red. Also longitude and latitude info is set correctly (on console as well on meteohub). I wonder why it works normal when I connect it to different console VP2 and when return back to previous console, it started to do such strange behaviour.

Hi,

If you see only an issue with the solar data, I would suspect that there is an issue between the solar sensor and the ISS. Might be an idea to check the RJ11 connector that feds into the ISS. Just reseating it might be enough.

Keep in mind that the ISS handles also a few other sensors. If the connection between MH and the ISS would have been an issue, one would also see that the other sensors would drop out.
