Planning a Raspberry Pi Setup!

Hi to the Forum,

I am in the process of setting up a system to use Meteohub with a Raspberry Pi.
I just wanted to know from anyone on the Forum who uses a R.Pi what there thought and experiences are before I commit and buy one!
I have a Davis VP2 and have only ever used the Weatherlink software of which the USB connection cable came with.
Any advise would be most welcomed.
