Can't login to NSLU2 via Web Browser

Post by mrapkins »

As most people here, I need some help and advise.

I haevn't been "watching" my NSLU2 for the last year as my weather station equipment has had various components fail over the last year or so and couldn't get replacements. I hae finally upgraded the whole system (Oregon WMR300) and now wanted to get all back online.
I have turned the NSLU2 off and on and reset it as I could not get to the IP address I had previously configured.

I have been able to add a new IP address and subnetmask using SSH and using the backup 192.168.1.77 address.
My basic problem with the NSLU2 is that I can't get the browser to connect to it. That is, I use the new IP address for it and the browser asks for userid and password, but sits there trying to connect.
When I SSH into it on the new IP address, the host name is Meteohub, so, even through a reset it has maintained the Meteohub info.
When I put the IP address into the browser, it looks for /cgi-bin/meteohub.cgi

The last thing I got was;
404 Not Found
The requested URL '/cgi-bin/meteohub.cgi' was not found on this server.
thttpd/2.25b 29dec2003

So, from all the above, it looks like OpenSlug has still been applied but for some reason, the browser part of cgi file is not accesssible.
I have connected the original USB with the Meteohub software, but just not getting anywhere.

Anyone (Boris) know what I can try or what I can do from the SSH connection, that will get access back onto the NSLU2?

Before investing time on this I would recommend
a) to get some recent Hardware, the slug is out of production for over 5 years now.
b) please be aware that WMR300 is not supported by Meteohub.

Thanks Admin

I have gone to the latest software release of Meteohub and was able to login on 192.168.1.77, after the reboot on the new release.
When I change the IP address to one on my network,I again have the issue in logging in.

Also, thanks for letting me know about support for the WMR300. Looks like all my work has been wasted.

Any chance will be supporting the WMR300 in the near future?

no, undocumented protocol. can't you trade in the WMR300 for a Vantage? Price is nearly the same...

No. Only just got it. Trying it as a WMR928 as they are just about exactly the same.
Also, how do I recover my previous licence key?

When you send license key and new System ID to me, I can generate an activation code for the new System ID: info(at)meteohub.de

Please believe me, the WMR300 will not work with Meteohub/Meteobridge/Meteoplug. The only non Oregon SW that supports this station is WD as Brian (WD author) took the effort to reverse engineer it. Sorry buying that station was a bad move when you want to use 3rd party software. Please let Oregon know how disappointed you are, it is their obligation to make the protocol available. Pressure from their customers is the only way to help them to overcome their user-unfriendly protocol policy.
