How to startup with meteohub on pi

Got the raspberrypi img file downloaded.
Got an empty sd card.
What is the procedure?

Format sd card with SDformatter, then simply copy the img onto the memory card, or do i need to involve noobs somewhere?

I have used for it the programme Win32 Disk Imager. Just choose the downloaded image, the device and then the option 'Write'.
