Meteobridge Not Transmitting To WUG After Sensor Repair

Post by bluegrassguitar »

I am using AcuRite's 5in1 sensor with the AcuLink bridge and Meteobridge. The system has worked extremely well for over a year. The sensor's rain gauge developed irreparable problems yesterday and I swapped the bottom half from a spare sensor with a functioning rain gauge for the one that went bad. I reset the console display with no issues. I reconfigured AcuRite's "My Backyard Weather" dashboard, deleting the now non-functioning sensor and adding the "newly rebuilt" one ... no problem there. My Backyard Weather is showing correct readings and automatically updates itself every 5 minutes, as it should.

For some reason, however, even though I have "success" messages, Meteobridge is not transmitting temps, humidity, rain, and wind data from the "new" sensor to WeatherUnderground nor WeatherBug, the only 2 services I use. It does transmit the AcuLink bridge's pressure reading as well as temp and humidity from 2 tower sensors to the My Backyard Weather dashboard. Also, I can transmit data from AcuLink to WUG every 15 minutes if I elect not to send data from Meteobridge to WUG, which I am having to do now.

I have done hard resets to the AcuLink bridge and Meteobridge and re-booted the system several times, hoping that might jog it back to functional status but those efforts did not work.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

The Live Data page seems to have current information from all active sensors, including the 5in1. I assume the data from that sensor is actually being sent to WUG although I am not sure. I have not turned on transmission from Meteobridge to WUG today and am just letting AcuRite's "My Backyard Weather" site feed my data to WUG in 15 minute intervals.

Live Data:
Outdoor #6 50 sec 22.8°C 84% (dew 20.0°C, heat 22.8°C) 73.0°F 84% (dew 68.0°F, heat 73.0°F)
Outdoor #5 3 sec 22.4°C 94% (dew 21.4°C, heat 22.4°C) 72.3°F 94% (dew 70.5°F, heat 72.3°F)

I tried sending data from MB to WUG again today but had the same result...other than pressure from the AcuLink bridge, no data shows up on WUG for current conditions, tables, or graphs. (Also, WeatherBug is showing 140 deg. F but that might be some sort of weird default for null values.)

Meteobridge channels data to MyBackyardWeather with no problem and AcuLink is sending that to WUG every 15 mins. So, I give up. At this stage, my MB is only good as a wireless device which untethers the AcuLink bridge from my home router, allowing better placement options for receiving reliable signals from the sensor. As far as more frequent updates to WUG, it is useless at this point.

Any suggestions?

Could you please open the Meteobridge for an inspection by me?
Please follow instructions below and send link to "info(at)meteobridge.com".

What was the result of this issue? Was it ever resolved?

Yes, it was resolved. Boris found that Meteobridge would not recognize a change in AcuRite's sensor (as I had done) and added an option in the station tab beside the AcuRite sensor option to instruct Meteobridge to "forget" the old sensor and accept the new one or, in my case, the modified one. All is working now.

That's good to hear. I'm setting up my system and I don't think the pass through (LAN Bridge) is working. Gotta figure out why.
