Think i forgot my user and /or password

Hi i'm new to this and i was setting it up.When i went to log back in with what i thought was the password i created it won't let me in.Iv'e tried every combination that i can think of.The admin sent me instructions how to reset it but i don't seem to understand them.Sorry i'm not as tech savey as i thought.My question is it says to login on port 22 via a ssh client.How do i do this?

Just get "putty" for your windows pc, this can login via ssh.
