Good finding. Same situation here. I checked code an it was some internal
buffer overflow situation when archived packets are flowing through in big number.
Latest update has this bug removed. Please reboot your Meteobridge and try again.

Problem solved! Very satisfying discovering a bug, reporting it and having it quickly fixed.
Thanks!

Thanks for solving this! I just had exactly the same problem with Weathercat. My system was off for a few hours, and now Weathercat is attempting to load historical data. As with Ladd, it always fails at record 38.
I'll update to V2.5 and check the problem has gone. It wasn't an immediate problem for me as I'm experimenting with using Meteohub on a Raspberry Pi and am feeding Weathercat through a PHP script instead. I now have a full set of Meteo licenses - Meteohub, Meteobridge, and Meteoplug!

I have had to re-boot the Mac mini which is running the WeatherCat software, which had been configured to received the Meteobridge data via port 22222. Upon WeatherCat restarting, it attempts to download historical records and it fails on record 38 of 512. WC then re-starts the dowload, again failing on record 38. It continues this cycle until I am required to force-quit WC.

Hi,
@Admin
Well, your understanding seems to be more then moderate
When connecting WL to an IPlogger, three choices are provided by WL.
1. Local device ID: Logger is on local lan, then using the MAC address.
2. Remote IP: When logger on other location, this option is used. You use the external IP address vor the remote logger.
3. Web download: To download your data from the Weaterlink website.
I was successfull using option 2 with just local LAN IP from Meteobridge.
My first findings:
Using a testing station: Vantage Vue console with IP logger, Meteobridge (WL330N3G) and WL 5.9.0.
* First download (512 pages) stuck a page 70 somewhat, well maybe logger sucked up. I cleared the archive of the logger and set interval to 1 min. Communications running much slower then when directly talking to IPlogger. But that's obvious I guess.
* I decided to create a new (Vantage Vue) station and did a walkthrough the settings.
- WL was confused finding a "Vantage general model" on the Meteobridge. So I told this station was a VP2
- At a certain setting I got a "function aborted... due to timeout". However I could proceed the walkthrough and finish.
* First download (some 9 pages) downloaded o.k.
* Immediately did another download. Normally WL responds with "no new data..." and downloads nothing. However now it started downloading the same pages again. At page 9 there was a communication error. WL kept on trying but after some ten tries I aborted the download.
So, it's working but I don't feel "save" with it. Maybe passing data through the somewhat slow WL330 does interrupt seemless communication.
I'll be monitoring communications the upcoming days and will report findings.
Regards,
Albert.

Meteobridge has some timers that detect when no new data coming in over a period of time.
May be there is some timer that triggers in the mid of downloading archive data. And breaks
it. That will be easy to fix, but I need it reproduceable to track down the root cause.
At the moment my Davis logger is rather empty so it will take some days for me to get
this tested with a fully filled data logger.
Regarding speed of download of archive data I also feel that it is slow compared to
a direct connection. I didn't draw too much attention to it but will give it another check.
Does downloading a complete archive from the data logger also break for other users?
P.S.: Tried with 120 data sets actually in my logger (USB) and that works fine.

Will you be able to update the firmware in the Davis console with this version?
Re: BETA tester for "Meteobridge Virtual Vantage" welcome *D
Hi,
Continued findings with config as reported before (no reboot since jan 19).
So after 2 days of 1min inderval my logger was 99% full and I started a download to WL.
Download was interrupted several times because of CRC errors. It took 8 restarts of the download to complete fully.
1. 42 records
2. 71
3. 38
4. 139
5. 178
6. 175
7. 19
8. 10
When I abort a download (after read errors) and start downloading again WL will start this session at the initial count of pages for the sesssion.
When I do not abort the download, the process stops after 20 retries. Already processed pages are kept.
I.e.: When at start of session 220 new pages are left, sticks after reding 40 pages wait until no more retries (20) next download will start with remaining 180 pages.
After downloading all the pages, all weather info seems to be correctly downloaded into WL.
22-1 update:
Also with most recent 2.5 2711 build same symptoms. Tried several times.
Regards,
Albert.

Hi.
I tested with MB 2.5 /meteostick/cumulus unsuccessfully
Is this valid with meteostick ?

Re: BETA tester for "Meteobridge Virtual Vantage" welcome *D
No, just works with a Davis logger.
Re: BETA tester for "Meteobridge Virtual Vantage" welcome *D
Or a Davis-compatible logger. I use one made by BelfreyBoy and it works just fine.
Re: BETA tester for "Meteobridge Virtual Vantage" welcome *D
Yes, of course, any Davis "clone" logger will also work.
Re: BETA tester for "Meteobridge Virtual Vantage" welcome *D
Do you have an IP data logger connected to Meteobridge or a USB one?dhz wrote:Hi,

If it is an IP logger, could you please give me access to the connected Meteobridge?
Re: BETA tester for "Meteobridge Virtual Vantage" welcome *D
Info sent via PM. Now testing. To be continued.
