1. If you used the usb logger with the Weatherlink program on a PC, the logger is probably set to wetherlinks special "USB express" mode.
There is a utility to reset the logger back to normal usb serial mode.

2. Are you using the mandatory usb hub between the logger and some of the Meteobridge models? It seems that only the Asus WL -330N3G does not need a hub.

Thanks for your help.
I am using the USB hub that comes with the Meteobridge. and yes, i was using the data logger with the WeatherLink application, and also used it with my own java program. Can I ask you how to reset the logger to the normal usb serial mode?

As far as I remember there is a utility on the Weatherlink CDROM.
You can also check the Weatherlink downloadsite.

Or use Google with "Weatherlink USB express", there are multiple results.

Hope this helps, Wim

Thanks for your help;
however, still didn't solve the problem, since could not find anything that can convert the data logger back to the normal USB mode, within the weatherLink , there is only a CP210X USB to Serial Converter.
and I actually have two USB data logger, one of them is new, never used it before, but still got the same error
communication blocked because incompatible Davis data logger or console/envoy on weak batteries
, So I think there might be some other issues, so Can anyone help?

Davis has cut-off compatibility of their newer console firmware versions with their older USB data loggers.
That was an unfriendly move to kill the market for cheaper 3rd party loggers coming up.
The newer Davis USB data-loggers (called green dot loggers) work with the new firmware.

The error message tells you that Meteobridge can't get your logger to work with the Davis console
and found some indication you have a compatibility issue here.

Did you try running the logger with the Davis Weatherlink software on your PC?
If this works I will dig deeper whats on here. At the moment I think your logger is simply incompatible to your console.

Thanks Admin for your help;

About the "Green dot logger", the problem is that when we buy it, we won't know which version is it, as there is only one version of USB data logger from Davis. I bought it more than a month ago, and there was no "Green dot" on the package.
Yes, I used it with the WeatherLink application before, and it works fine. Do you think it is possible to make it work with the MeteoBridge? or is there any other data logger options that can compatible with the MB?

You should be able to reset the mode of the USB data logger (I am guessing that it is currently in USBXpress mode).

First remove the data logger from your Vantage Pro2 and connect it to your PC. Then run the piece of software installed under WeatherLink called CP210X USB to Serial Convertor. Follow the instructions and change your USB data logger mode to serial (not USBXpress). Then refit the data logger into the Vantage Pro2 and reconnect it to MeteoBridge. MeteoBridge should now be able to communicate with it.

The green dot was used when both old & new versions of equipment were in the supply chain together so suppliers could see what would and wouldn't work together. Recent packages do not have the green dot.

I have already done this before:
First remove the data logger from your Vantage Pro2 and connect it to your PC. Then run the piece of software installed under WeatherLink called CP210X USB to Serial Convertor. Follow the instructions and change your USB data logger mode to serial (not USBXpress). Then refit the data logger into the Vantage Pro2 and reconnect it to MeteoBridge. MeteoBridge should now be able to communicate with it
and it didn't work, beside, when running the CP210X USB to Serial Convertor,
A window will open prompting to press a button to continue. Press Enter to continue and then Enter again when it prompts you to exit., there is nowhere to select the USB data mode.

in addition, it appears within the control panel > device manager > ports (COM & LPT) > Silicon Lab CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3) (Is this because I did uninstall the driver, and then update the driver with the weatherLink? )

Please make it working with weatherlink on the PC first.
If you have done that, we can give it a try on Meteobridge again.

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. I should have been clearer, I believe the CP210X USB to Serial Convertor only works one way - it converts from USBXpress to Serial.

Did you get the message:
Successfully converter the device from USB to Virtual Serial. Press any key to exit.

Have the problem solved now, however, not sure how did it happen, just re-connect, re-configure and re-start everything, same as i did in the last few days, but seems now the meteoBridge getting the live data now.
Thanks Everyone
