Dynamic DNS in OpenWRT

Post by Smitty51 »

My Meteobridge (D-Link DIR 505L) is remote and not behind a router. I would my desktop software (WeatherCat) to be able to IP to the Meteobridge without me having to hardcode in the IP address. Right now I have to use SSH via (https://admin.meteobridge.com/xxx...) to retrieve the IP address and then paste it into WeatherCat.

I have tried to load the dynamic DNS client on to OpenWRT but it will not let me load or install "ddns-scripts".
i.e.
opkg updateopkg
install ddns-scripts

Can anyone give me some advice?

I need to keep the power consumption down at the remote site where the Meteobridge is installed so I don't want to add a standalone router.

Thanks
