WLAN IP settings and more

Post by WVZR-1 »

I've managed to get my MeteoHub reconfigured after I created a Linux machine to accomplish some of the effort. I have it running and it has for several days. The wireless dongle that is part of the AmbientWeatherHub4 package and is recommended by Boris is installed and "blinking" hinting that it should work but doesn't seem to. I have it running presently using Ethernet. Here is my NETWORK SETTINGS page and I have a couple questions. I have seen in the user manual where it mentions setting an IP address for both and in the example page the DHCP isn't checked and the IP's are different. I was instructed to use DHCP and I'm confused. The other difference is my DNS1 doesn't match the GATEWAY and in the example page it does.

Could some one please maybe check their NETWORK page and advise me on the appearance of theirs in comparison to mine and the example. I'd hate to demolish this build again and have to reconstruct it again from scratch. The differences are obvious I believe.

Do I need to force a different IP address for the WLAN or use the same as the LAN? What do I need to have matching, DNS1 and the GATEWAY or neither or?

If you're using the wireless function help would be appreciated. Mine is a Silverstone DC01S with the DWA-1 D-Link Dongle that's recommended.

Once done do I just check the LAN or WLAN to use either? Will I get the login from both of the IP addresses? Presently I just use the .58 from any connection I happen to be using.
