Meteobridge GUI does not start after restoring a backup

Post by fscherze »

Hi all,

I have the windfinder weather station and see the following issue:

After replacing the Router with a speedport LTE II from Deutsche Telekom, I managed to have a really stable and ultra fast LTE connection (no blaming windfinder here!), BUT:

- For applying the new network settings (new router->new DHCP address) I had to reboot meteobrigde.
- The boot stalled before the Web GUI showed up. I can see that packets are uploaded and downloaded in the character based interface and the router tells me so too. The system stays that way, even if I try the same at home in my LAN over night.

The only way to get it working again, is to reset meteobridge to defaults, then restore a backup of the settings and click "save" or "save and apply" on every tab of the GUI. That is what the wizzard asks me to do. Everything fine so far.
The wizzard also tells me to reboot after I change the system time from UTC to local timed. During that boot, loading the GUI fails again and I see the character-based UI.

Any ideas what the problem is? Is there a setting that I can check, that the old router used, but the new router does not allow?

rgds,

Fred

Sounds like there are some network settings in your backup that do not work when applied to the new router setup.

All,

I am seeing a weird issue, I can flash the ASUS, it will get the recent version. If I just reboot the box, I get the Text UI and it never boots back into the meteo GUI. I tired a few different things, like changing the parameters and applying it, that works fine, but if you "reboot" the box it never returns to the Meteo GUI.

Any thoughts? Bug? or just bad luck? I can successfully repeat the process of flashing the ASUS device to get back to the Meteobridge software but it never comes back up after a reboot.

This device has been working fine, for 3 plus years, I just moved and tried to bring it backup online with a different station ID. The network in my house is the same as at the other house.

I also tried to downgrade the software to see that helps and no luck

Thoughts? Help?

Thanks
A

Can you please send your backup file to "info(at)meteobridge.com" so that I can have a look at it.

Do I get it right that the unit boots fine when being freshly setup, but the moment you install the
backup file and do a reboot you get stuck?

The network I use is 172.16.1.x/24 for my home. so the ips are correct.

I don't even load a backup file , literally I do a fresh load with the firmware, then just click reboot, and it doesn't come back up. Gets stuck on the text UI.

There is a general problem with the application stack update released last night.
A "how-to-fix" instruction will follow shortly... please, stay tuned.

Here is the link how to fix: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=10461&p=18167#p18167
