[SOLVED] Can't access TL-MR3020

Post by Medor »

I can't access any more the meteobridge, neither on the public nor on the local IP address, and of course it doesn't send any data. Nothing special happened before I lost contact.

- It's on Ethernet (wired) DHCP, with the ADSL box/router attributing an IP address for its MAC number.
- The network light on the ADSL box is on when the MR3020 is on, and off when the MR3020 is off, as it should be.
- If I restart the MR3020, the LED blinks slowly, then blinks fast and stays there. No IP adress on the LAN seems to have been attributed to the device.
- I have tried putting a config.tgz on a USB stick and restarting, with identical result. I have tried with another one.

What should I try next ?

Today I restarted the MR3020, and it's now half-awake :

- I can ping it, and It answers slowly.

- nmap reports:
22/tcp open ssh
53/tcp open domain
80/tcp open http

- attempts to contact the web server fail : "The connection has timed out"

- SSH connection attempt :
debug1: Connecting to 192.168.1.148 [192.168.1.148] port 22.
debug1: Connection established.
...
debug1: Enabling compatibility mode for protocol 2.0
debug1: Local version string SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_6.6.1p1 Ubuntu-2ubuntu2
debug1: Remote protocol version 2.0, remote software version dropbear_2011.54
debug1: no match: dropbear_2011.54
debug1: SSH2_MSG_KEXINIT sent
debug1: SSH2_MSG_KEXINIT received
debug1: kex: server->client aes128-ctr hmac-md5 none
debug1: kex: client->server aes128-ctr hmac-md5 none
debug1: sending SSH2_MSG_KEXDH_INIT
debug1: expecting SSH2_MSG_KEXDH_REPLY
... and it seems to wait for ever.

Anything I should try ?

When it stays at fast blink mode, it cannot reach the internet.

Since I can -sometimes- ping it, and it -sometimes- answer the SSH attempts, the network is properly configured.
And I don't see how it could be denied internet access, nothing having changed in the router.

What is suspect is that it works a little bit "sometimes" ! Could this MR3020 be defective ? It seems to me the easiest way to find out is to just buy a new one, and reinstall the meteo software (hoping the licence will be valid !).

Can be conflicting IPs etc.

I doubt a new hardware will solve the issues, but you can of course try.
Regarding license, I can move the license to the new hardware when you
send me old and new MAC. As new unit will start in 14 days trial mode,
there is no hurry with that.

I have a similar problem where i cant access the meteobridge software on the TL-MR3020 router. Also my main virgin media router drops out its wifi aswell and when connect via lan it causes the virgin router to go slow aswell.

It seems to happen randomly and can sometimes recover itself but normally needs a reboot.
I am running version 2.5 and only recently received my TL-MR3020 router so i doubt it is hardware issues.

I have also noticed my ram does vary from 86% to 92% even though my meteobridge isnt doing any extra work or processing when at either ram percentage.

Any help? or suggestions on what to do?

A new MR3020 did solve the problem, which means the previous router is dead.
Just a small glitch:
data is sent to wunderground.com, and on the dashboard the "Current Conditions" are Ok, the "graphs" and "table" values for the day are Ok, but the "Summary" values (max, min, avg) are empty.
Anyone knows what could cause that ?

Now all data are displayed, maybe because my station has been sending data for 24 hours.
