Does MB allow WeatherCat to "Clear the log"?

I'm running a Vantage Vue > USB Davis Logger > MB 2.6 (Sep 28 2015, build 7047), FW 1.4; I have installed a test version of WeatherCat on my MacBook Pro. The PC software is reading and displaying the live stream from the logger/MB effortlessly!!! Since I do not have the PC program running 24/7, each and every time WC starts it downloads the historical archive from the logger. I checked the "delete log after historical download" option in WC, but it seems to be behaving as if the entire log is downloading every time. Is it possible that the MB software is not allowing the WC software to clear the log in the logger? Also, for the historical data which is downloaded into WC, there seems to be gaps within it (though this may be a WC issue).

Meteobridge just passes through the traffic from/to the PC. It is not filtering anything.
