Meteobridge error messages **solved**

Post by sfabre1963 »

Hi, I am a brand new user of Meteobridge. Completed setup, everything seems to be working fine.
I always see good data both on the Meteobridge itself, and on Weather Underground. I understand that
the following blips are maybe to small to see online, and I just don't have good enough timing to see
it on the bridge itself. Since getting the bridge up and running for almost 24 hours I am seeing out of range
errors. Looks like "pressure X10 out of range", "Gust speed X10 out of range". Earlier in the list I also seen
"Average speed X10 out of range". Did not do an actual count on the number of errors that have been repeating
but it looks like in about an 8 hour time frame, these errors repeated probably a couple hundred times. Screen
shots below.

Thanks

Knowing your weather station and seeing screen shot
of live data coming in (but please not these huge retina
shots that blow the threads with unneeded pixel resolution)
would really help ;-)

Sorry about that, was not aware this would load up the forum. Will be more careful next time.
Should I delete the attached image files ?
And can you see what may be causing these error messages ?

Thanks

When you read my posting again you might realize, that I asked for your weather station type and for a specific screen shot.
No need to delete screen shots, but using smaller ones next time would be great. Thanks.

Understood. My weather station is an Acurite 1036. And will attach a screenshot of the Live Sensors.
Hope this is what you needed..

Never tested on a 1036, just have had a 1035. While the 1035 could hardly report indoor humidity correctly,
that seems to work with your 1036. Negative rainfall makes me wonder. But may be the is just an
initial glitch with this station, so please delete rainfall values on historical section of "live data" tab
and check if this shows up again. Looks like wind also gets reported a bit different, but sorry to say there
is not much I can do, as Acurite is not even be sold outside the US (afaik) and I am reluctant to
grey import one from the US.

If you can convince Acurite to send me information on the data structures they use for USB coms,
I can give it a try. Without I cannot develop that remotely. Unfortunately, Acurite has never been
supportive in the past.

Not sure about some of the things you have posted. Rain fall amounts shown are correct, the rain fall RATES may be out of wack which I can delete, and did delete some
but not all. The accumulated rates reported were measured a week or so before I purchased the Meteobridge, but are correct. I am also good with the wind reported, min which would be zero, and the max for that particular day looks right.

I am just concerned about the error messages I have been seeing on the Meteobridge. Again I cannot see any issues with the numbers being reported to WU. These errors may only happen with 1 out of 9 samples not sure.

Also I could be wrong but I thought the only difference between the 1035 and 1036 was only one was color and one was not.

My fault, rain rate raised my concern, not rain total. Wind stored here looks fine, but values blocked and listed in the messages section are rather strange. Looks like there is sometimes data coming in that is not structured as expected.

I can switch off the messages to give you a better sleep, but I think it is worth knowing that data seen has some challenges in it. :D

I can't say when they change something in the station internal firmware and if it is just a different color.

I am good with all your replies, but I am kind of confused with the humor about the error messages. Even though your device ultimately is giving WU
the correct information from my station I must say I am concerned about the messages. If you are telling me don't worry about this, then cool I will not. But you have to admit
this is not what most people would consider normal. !!!

Again I am good with the final results, but what is happening in the background concerns me. What if this or something similar gets worse ?

Well, humor is what stays when you don't have a better answer and I also marked it with the "warning! humor!" smiley.

As said, the messages indicate that unexpected data comes in. I also explained that I can't analyze in depth why that happens. Your station is not exactly on the list of supported stations and we both don't know what makes it different from the model I tested with in the past. So what do you expect me to answer?

I will just keep my eye on it. It does seem as though the data getting to WU is good quality data. Thanks for your replies..
