I wanted to test this new MBP with some new weather sites that we are not currently sending to with our dedicated weather computer and software. This Weather Cloud site looked nicely done so I decided to sign up and let my new MBP start sending data to them.
Everything is configured the way I assume it should be. I was provided with an ID and a KEY from the WC site and I entered those into the Weather Cloud fields in the MBP web interface, uploading every 10 minutes, and both fields have a GREEN CHECK next to them.
Problem is... Nothing is happening. Live Data page "No Weather Network Traffic" for Weather Cloud, and the WC site shows my new account as UNLINKED.
I am seeing some new error messages in the system section after adding this upload data: (in addition to the constant weathernet daemon stalled messages)
logger (10.03.2016 19:06:45): open named pipe "/dev/meteobridge" failed: No such device or address
test5m (10.03.2016 19:10:50): weathernet daemon stalled, will be restarted now.

Is this a broken feature? Doesn't appear to be anything else I can enter or change on my end.
Another odd thing I noticed is that the WC ID and KEY are also being added to the blank Weather Underground settings fields, which I am not planning to activate at this time. I set WU to NO Upload, but why is the WC login info being added to the WU fields by the interface when I hit SAVE?
Also... How can I DELETE the Weather Underground Weather Net settings stuff from my Weather Nets page? I only see ADD as an option, with no way to delete anything after it has been added. Since I am not planning to use my MBP to send to WU for now, I really don't want it on there. Also don't want other sites staying on there if I decide later to stop sending data to them. ???

Re: Weather Cloud Uploads? - Anyone get this to work?
I have now created TWO new Weather Nets on my MBP and neither one of them is working.
The second new feed I setup was for Open Weather Map. (I am just checking out sites we are not currently sending to with our computer, off the pull down menu in the MBP web interface)
I entered in all the data according to the instructions on that site with a 2 minute upload interval, and just like the Weather Cloud settings I get green check marks next to everything, but when I go to the LIVE DATA tab, I see the same message now twice:
Weather Network Status
Weather Cloud: No weather network traffic
Open Weather Map: No weather network traffic
I definitely need some help, since according to everything I am reading in the MBP manual, both of these should be sending right now.

I don't have precise answers for you, but have some suggestions.
First of all I don't see a way to remove Weather Network's either. Perhaps toggle to "no upload", Save, then back to "10 minutes", Save?
I setup Weathercloud in mid-November 2015, and haven't had any upload issues. https://app.weathercloud.net/d0228562748
I setup Weather Underground in March 2014, also with no upload issues.

Re: Weather Cloud Uploads? - Anyone get this to work?
I received this reply today from Weather Cloud support over this uploading issue with the MBP. I am going to assume that a similar report will be forthcoming from the Open Weather Map support folks too.
I am more than willing to work with Boris to get this issue figured out. I was a primary beta tester for our LWC weather software during its development, so sorting through this kind of stuff is nothing new to me.

So... WHEN are we going to see upload support for these sites on the MBP? I definitely need to know that soon during my 30 day evaluation period of this device. One of the reasons I purchased this box was to send our data to sites that our 9 year old weather software isn't setup to do. If I can't do that, this product isn't of any use to me.From: Weathercloud <support@weathercloud.net>

Hi Rick,
Many thanks for your interest in joining Weathercloud.
Some users are uploading their data to Weathercloud via the standard Meteobridge without any problem.
However, there seems to be an issue with the Meteobridge Pro.
We would suggest you to contact the author of the sofware to report this issue.
We are open to collaborate with them in whatever they need.
Sorry for the inconvenience,

Done and done!admin wrote:please reboot to get todays update which fixes this.

Both Weather Cloud and Open Weather Map are now updating properly with no indications of any further issues with this process.
Thanks for working with me and getting to the bottom of this problem so quickly Boris! Much appreciated!

I would still be interested in an update that would allow the user to REMOVE Weather Nets from this page that they are no longer using, or in the case of the default WU settings, the ability to remove pre-installed sites that the user does not need to upload to.

I discovered that you can remove sites from the Weather Nets list if you set them to NO UPLOAD and then SAVE. If you add that site back into the list, it comes back up with your account info still in place, which is cool!
This removal technique works for all but the Weather Underground stuff at the top of the page. Perhaps related to it being a default option there? I would still like to get rid of that WU stuff on my page if possible.
Also... While I was having good luck sending data up to Weather Cloud for most of this afternoon, over the last few hours I have started seeing timeouts and related issues with only that one site. I am starting to think that the Weather Cloud site itself could be to blame for this latest round of issues, but I am not 100% sure about that.
There may still be some bugs within the Weather Cloud upload code within the MBP interface. Screenshots have been sent to Boris for review.
I trust if there are still lingering issues with the WC uploading in the MBP software, Boris will root it out and get a patch pushed to us.
Anyone else uploading to WC so we can compare notes on reliability? I am uploading every 10 minutes. Although with these errors tonight, we are going as long as 40 minutes between updates.

WU is not disappearing when being set to "no upload" as it is the default weather network I started with and some kind of saying thanks that they helped me getting Meteobridge into the market back in late 2013. Resellers can of course opt for another default, ambient was fine with WU as default.
Issues with Weather Cloud look like connection time outs which most probable is their server not being responsive. When a more clear pattern is in sight, I can tweak a bit with increasing timeout thresholds on my side, if that helps.

One thing I notice with the WC settings is that there is no options for the number of retries. Most of the other sites allow you to set this value. Since some of the messages are indicating that MBP is running out of tries, perhaps adding the ability to try forever like the other sites in the system?admin wrote:WU is not disappearing when being set to "no upload" as it is the default weather network I started with and some kind of saying thanks that they helped my getting Meteobridge into the market back in late 2013. I have emailed WC support and sent them screenshots of what I am seeing on my end. They said they would check their server logs and get back to me. I will of course pass along anything they provide me.
As for the WU settings... I understand why you would want to leave that up there at the top since they helped you out and stuff. We have been sending our data to them for 7 years and they are great folks to work with!
But since we are currently sending our data to Wunderground via Rapid Fire using our dedicated weather computer and LWC software, I have no need for the WU option on my MBP box. If we ever have a failure of our weather computer, then MBP would be configured to send our WU data up to our account. That is the primary reason I purchased the MBP was to have a standalone backup option for sending up our data to all of our various web based partners, should our dedicated weather computer fail due to old age. (7 years and counting of 24/7 nearly unattended operation! - Gotta love Apple computers!)
I just have no need to leave that WU stuff up on my Weather Nets page right now, and would have preferred to just see the sites the MBP is actually sending to.
Cheers.
