MBP - from internal to external storage

Post by plex »

Hi!

If I devide to use external storage for database, does it mean my current database will be lost? Will MPB automatic move the existing database to new media, when switching storage?

I'm a little scared to try, since I've already lost my database once

Thanks

There will be no automated move.
MBPRO will format USB stick and will
start building a new data base on it.

Okay I understand.. So it's not possible to move database from internal to usb stick, and continue with same database?

When you are willing to login on shell level via ssh, you can copy the database.
Should I explain how?

No need to - I just needed to understand how it's working...

I'll just continue with internal storage

Thanks
