Sticky Release 3.1

Post by joe002 »

Just a quick note - it appears that Meteobridge 3.1 (Sep 12 2016, build 10299) doesn't have the option to "Stick to version 3.1".

Wouldn't that be because 3.1 is the latest/current version hence the version control options of "get newest on boot" and "use installed version" handle this. Once there is a version 3.2 then there will be a "Stick to version 3.1" etc?

In the past, as I recall, each release was sticky - so you could stick to the release you wanted (including the current).

If I have to wait for 3.2 to make 3.1 sticky then I would have to get 3.2 to make 3.1 sticky, stick 3.1, and then reboot to downgrade from 3.2 to 3.1. Maybe I did that in the past, but I don't remember doing it. :?

Usually, the last release of a version has the option to make itself sticky.
But most users go with the latest version and apart from some incidents
that worked fine for 99%... and it also gives me a huge audience to test
the new version and to find tricky errors very rapidly.
