Wind direction average option.

Post by TinMan »

Hi,
But is it possible in the future release to add a option to average a station's Wind direction value?
I apologise if this question has been asked before.

That's a difficult one? What type of time period are you expecting?

Hi Mattk, I think over a 10-15 min average.
Also just a thought that some software the average bearing is zero when there is no wind and means "calm". North 360 degrees.
I was using Cumulus before I went over to meteobridge and that has the option to avg the wind direction, also to zero degs on 'calm'.

The "calm" condition should be able to be handled using the #if#...#then#....#else#....#fi# etc as no wind then obviously no direction

Regard the average wind direction, have you considered a wind direction "range" (sort of min/max thing) which can be utilized/reported over a much wider time period?
